Today, I received the approval notice in mail. However I did not get the physical cards. The notice says that I may have to do the biometrics again to get the but need not take any action at this time.
Received the "Card Production Ordered" email this evening at 6.30PM EST.

I am in the same boat. I got Notice welcoming new PR email on 8/5 and nothing after that.
Man Parag, I remember you and me were struggling together for our biometrics appointment and now, here we are again struggling to get a damn approval email..:)

How can contributing $1000.00 to immigration voice solves this problem? You are telling like a swami's in India, give me money I will do some pooja on your behalf and all your problems will be solved.
The money is not for me or for the Immigration Voice but for the lobbying to make the uscis or the government understand how the employment based GC system is outdated, and how the people who came to usa with an American Dream are being played by the rules not for days or weeks or months but for years and years. And procrastinating their American Dream because of the limitations they have during the GC process.
Active participation or contribution of 10 or 20 or 100 people wont be any effective unless and untill we all do it collectively.

What is the "LOWER HANGING BALLS" AND "LOWER HANGING SHIT" means? Why can't these assholes approve all the old cases and then move the dates to 2003 or 2004 or even 2006.
These type of analogy is nothing but a bullshit. USCIS under pressure??? What pressure? Who do they care? Why should they worry? Whole immigration system is a circus(jumbo, gemini circus) playing with our lives and with full of jokers making fun of us.

I took a printout of the receiver's signature image and the tracking information from the Fedex website just in case.
My attorney also mentioned that he submitted my case to the NSC liaison (I think he is referring to the AILA liaison of the NSC center) for follow up to see if they can help confirm the status of my application.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.

All the posts above are good coping measures, and some are used to actually deal with depressive symptoms. However they have missed the MOST important one! You used the term clinical depression. Please if you truly feel that way seek help, and seek it now, talk to your doctor or to a councilor. Though I won't go into details, I am speaking from personal experience. Sometimes things build up so much that we slip into such a state where we go beyond sadness and frustration and move to true depression.

So, we're back to the semantics. We need USCIS/DOL definitions of "permanent" and "legitimate"--not the definition just for educators/tenured teaching positions, as desi3933 gave. If we don't have the definitions, we can/can't assume anything/everything. Therefore, self-employment in same/similar occupation, with a *projected* cash flow, should be classified as "FT, permanent."

I said this before, Permanent job does not mean "forever", it simple means it has no fixed end date (i.e. indefinite duration). That said, most of the Permanent Jobs are, in fact, at will jobs.

Trying to stay legally hurts very much for the past 9 years.
Atleast they should allow to pre-file I-485 so that atleast guys like me (when we missed july 2007 race) can just file and complete the verification process in I-485.

If you want to play chess you got to play it by the rules. If you think you can win the game if we can change the rules, I would say it is not impossible but a long shot.
In USA every citizen is supposed to follow the law that is the fundamental reason why this place has been attracting so many immigrants ( anybody can pursue their dreams if they follow the law). If you think govt officials are above that you are wrong, if you encourage that by accepting it, that will not make this place any better than other third world democracies. All govt officials in the USA are accountable for what they are entrusted with, if you didn't know about it until now there is something wrong with the system we are working with. I can say this with full authority on this matter because I work for the goverment.
Let us give it a little though and see if fighting to make the dept follow the law is worth while. If we think it is not, getting a GC and living here is not any better than living back home.
